nip2 has some features that are not common among image processing packages:

nip2 has support for layers, so you can easily make special effects on one layer without affecting the rest of the image. The entire image is saved together with all layers.
nip2 has tools for splitting, merging, cropping, and rotating images. You can use the tools in many different ways, and you can save them as templates, so you will never forget how a particular effect looks like.
nip2 has drag and drop handling for all layers, so you can easily move, rotate, crop or resize an image by dragging it directly onto a layer (or the entire image).
When you save a layout, you are prompted for a number of parameters, so you can easily save a layout to another image in one fell swoop.
nip2 automatically generates the saving dialog box and offers a lot of different templates.
nip2 has a special dialog box for handling groups and layers. You can freely change properties like opacity, position, size, and layer relationships without changing the rest of the image.
nip2 has many more features than are usually found in a spreadsheet or word processor.

Installation:

1. Download and unzip.
2. Launch the program.
3. Click on the “Start” button (top left corner) to start nip2.
4. Go to the “Help” menu, and click on “Online Help” to get help online.
5. Click on “About” to see the version number.

To upgrade to the latest version, just click on the “Update” button.

If you have installed nip2, you can start it by double-clicking on its icon (located in your start menu) or by typing its full name.

FarManager has some’remote’ explorer tools, such as Discover, Explore, etc. It is not possible to launch them directly from the command line. But they can be accessed from the explorer like a normal far tool. This post is to present the Explore command line tools, and to document some usage patterns for exploring from the command line.
The Far manager version of Explore can be invoked with the prefix ‘Explore’ and can be followed by a command line parameters.
The FarManager’s Explore command line tool can be used to explore remote explorer panels which are available in your far manager, and get you the content of those panels. You can get the list of panels with the ‘list’ command, and the list of panels available for exploration with the ‘panels’ command. In the rest of this post you will see some usage patterns.
You can also use Explore for exploring remote farpanel’s local explorer. To do this you firstly need to know the name of the panel which you want to explore, then you can use ‘Explore -p’ to list all available remote far panel’s and finally you can use the name of the panel.
Example #1:
– explore -p Make,Model
Would list remote panels which are available for the Make, Model explorer panel.
Example #2:
– explore Make,Model -p Make,Model
Will list all remote panels available for the Make, Model explorer panel.

-f List remote panels and their corresponding farmanager explorer views
-v List remote far panel’s views
-s Select remote explorer panel

Explore Usage Patterns:
This list is a bit different then the rest.
– The ‘list’ command lists all available remote panels.
– The ‘panels’ command lists all available remote far panel’s.
– The ‘Explore -p’ command lists all available remote far panels.
– The ‘Explore -f’ command lists all available remote explorer views.
– The ‘Explore -v’ command lists all remote far panel’s views.
– The ‘Explore -s’ command selects a remote explorer panel.
– The ‘Explore -u’ command selects a remote far panel’s view.
– The ‘Explore -x’ command exits.
